Not sure, but looking at the porch and frame it looks like it's an Apache from around '61.
They were built in Bakersfield, Ca from about 59 to 61 or 62
Nice kart, heavy but handles good- I have a '60

Re: Looking for Horstman Mounts
Thanks Steve, I checked with Vince and they're down on his mile long list of projects..
He's always the first guy I check when I need something weird- I couldn't have finished my
GoKart 800 project without his engine plates and motor mounts!
See you soon

Looking for Horstman Mounts
I'm looking for a pair of the mounts Horstman made to use a Hegar dovetail on a Dart. I've already got the Hegar mount- just looking for the Horstman base. Also looking for a pair of Reed 500 mufflers for Macs. Cash or trade http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f9/dartkart/Horst001.jpg Thanks , Dan Eri...

Re: Replating Benders
Well I ended up contacting a half dozen replaters- the only one who showed any interest in the job was US Chrome in Wisconsin. Here's the reply I got from them-- Hi Dan Thanks for your interest in US Chrome! Yes, we have re-plated many West Bend cylinders such as these; no problem there at all with ...

Re: Replating Benders
Whew!! I didn't know it would be that expensive!
I'm going to try it anyhow, it's nearly impossible to find decent 5 port 700s
Thanks for the tip Jeff, I'll contact US Chrome and see if they can do an
engine with an integral head

Replating Benders
I've heard that some of you have had good luck with getting 820 bores replated. Have you had it done with chrome or nikasil? Has anyone here had cylinders done, do you recommend anyone, and what is the going rate? I've got a few 700 blocks with worn chrome that I'd like to have done- can it be done ...

Re: Bakersfield Event
Had a great time at a really nice vintage track. I agree, driving under the lights was something else!! Thanks a bunch to Mike and Ron- the effort is appreciated. Here's a link to some pics of the event- http://www.glowfoto.com/users3/bugstinger/index.php The pictures are in the Bakersfield Oct '08 ...
