Paul Bennett
I am sorry to report that Paul Bennett passed away this morning at his home in Irvine, CA., after receiving a call from his wife Bonnie. A long-term victim of leukemia, Paul was in hospice care at the end; he had been getting daily infusions of whole blood and platelets before the decision was made ...

Ernie Fisher's GoFundMe donations
I just got word that old friend Ernie Fisher, a Vintage and early-60's karting legend, is in need of our help to defer some of his recent medical expenses. He spent several months in the hospital where we almost lost him due to a heart condition, and he still needs more work. His recent "Konig/Hovey...

Duffy's Flexible Flyer
Alvin Webb tells me that after his days at Go Kart, Duffy designed & sold a 'chassis only' sidewinder to accommodate the new foreign engines, using your own selection of wheels, steering components, etc.... He sold it under the GP Enterprises label. This woulda been in the late 60's or early 70's. A...

Starter Battery
My old starter battery just shot craps. I didn't build the starter but someone told me it has a 6-volt Ford motor. The existing battery is a giant 875 cold-cranking amps. (over 11" long). Do I need to replace it with that same size or would a smaller & lighter battery work? Any specific recommendati...

Re: Junior Vintage Engines
Scott- I just paged thru some old mags, reminded me that Mac once built a bushing-class engine, the MC-2. Know anything about that one? Sounds ideal for low-powered kids engine.

WTB wheels, gas tank for GK 1200
I'm looking for a set of front and rear rims for a Go Kart 1200 restoration. Prefer original Azusa 6-rib but will consider others. Ditto gas tank, prefer the original round Azusa style tank.

WTB Continental Cart
I'm looking for the 1st kart I ever owned, a Continental Cart, circa 1960, sold as chassis only, add your own wheels and motor. Ever seen one?

Tillotson carb for MC-91A
I just bought a rebuilt MC-91, sans carb. Since I've never been thrilled with the Mac/duckbill carb, I'd like to know what Tillotson options I have (running gas, with original manifold and reed cage). I'd prefer recommendations on a new, current Tilly but any info on the older models would also be a...

Rev-Grip bearing lube
Happy New Year... Anyone have a recommendation for what to lube a Rev-Grip clutch bushing with? I'm used to the sweet needle bearings on Max-Torque clutches, but I now have a Mac with a bushing-bearinged Rev-Grip. Sure enough, I got that familiar chatter/squeak (like fingernails on a chalkboard) the...

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
I’ve been into vintage karting for about 2 years- longer than some, less than others. Now, after seeing some of the recent threads on the VKA and REAR forums, I’m beginning to wonder where we’ll be in another 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years. In my brief experience, I’ve observed that vintage karting p...
