Re: Mac 6 inner cover

Steve,
Early Mc-6 kart engines had a Tillotson HL93A carb, and later on used the small McCulloch flatback carb. The first early Mc-5 engines came with a Tillotson HL63B carb, which was a basic chain saw carb, and late Mc-5 engine also used the HL 93A.....Ed

Re: Need help identifying a couple of engines.

Harold, Look on ebay, and type in Continental Gas Engine, there is someone always selling service manuals for this engine. The number you have AA7-B442 is just the block casting number, the model number for your engine is AU7-R. When i raced these cars they were all direct drive, and push started by...

Re: Need help identifying a couple of engines.

Harold, The model number of the engine that you posted a picture of is AU7-R, an the engine with a crankshaft to mount a clutch is AU7. To mount a clutch on your engine in the picture, you will need to replace the crankshaft, the gear box cranks, have a short splined shaft, that mates with the femal...

Re: Need help identifying a couple of engines.

Harold, Your 4 stroke is a Continental, the Deco engine actually has the name Deco casted into the block right in front of the point box. The brazing on the front of the block was a comon modifacation for midget engine builders, and was refered to as straped. It was a way to try and protect the bloc...

Re: Poulan S-200 Kart Engine ?

Hi Frank, Thanks for the tip on the 1961 Hot Rod article, on the different kart engines. Actually the engine test was in the Feb issue, i just happen to have all 12 issues at home, but never realized it had a dyno deal on kart engines, in it. Frank you need to find a Poulan S-200, to go along with y...

Re: Poulan S-200 Kart Engine ?

Poulan S-200 Kart Engine ?

This kart engine is an unknown animal to me, i have never seen one before, only magazine adds. This engine looks like it came on the market, as a kart engine in 1960, rated at 5.8 cu, with a $99.50 price tag. Anyone here ever run one of these engines, or remember seeing one on a kart?....Ed
