Re: Another Tech Tip

WD40 will also remove the most stubborn adhesive residue too, with no affect on painted, chromed or polished surfaces.

Great stuff, as long as you don't think it's a penetrating oil...

Re: mc culloch kart R1

Here's an example of maybe the 2nd or 3rd seat Jesse did. I don't remember what I paid now, as it was quite a few years ago, but the seat and workmanship still looks fantastic. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one, if I needed it. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/v/t1.0-9/217...

Re: Karting jackets

My neighbor was getting ready to sell some stuff at the Mid-Ohio vintage bike swap meet last summer, and I spotted a diminuitive Bates leather jacket (med blue, with liner, vents, etc.) and it fit me. The story goes that his wife bet him $200.00 that he couldn't sell it at the swap meet (asking $20....

Why not try this? http://www.caswellplating.com/aids/tech ... ml#exhaust

It's a black satin finish that's also a thermal barrier.

Re: Looking for Robron

hi Rick, I don't know how you missed me. call for 8:00-11:00am & 1;00-4:00 pm daily. e-mail robroninc@bellsouth.net. I have been busy making parts for the karts. There's no better excuse than that ;) But I guess it happens; I was trying to contact you a while back, looking for a new Rev-grip clutch...

Re: Mac Crank Bearing removal and installation

Harbor Freight has a pretty cheap (aren't they all) 12 ton free-standing hydraulic press that makes short work of pushing the bearings out/in. Lots of uses around the shop, once you have it (sure is better than beating on things with a hammer). Likewise, I didn't find any bearings in this Mc9 (crank...

Welcome Debbi!

This is what my R1 looks like; not perfect, but it's better than when I got it ;)

Re: Anybody know what this part is?

Brake drum looks like a Bendix. Supposedly, the old ones are better than what's currently available, because of material thickness. I guess the new ones flex a bit; probably better suited to a yard-kart than a vintage racing kart. Yours is probably one of the originals. I also see a disc brake calip...

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking you need GoPower pyramid type (6-petal) reed cages for each carb.
