Re: Caretta VI-E

Dominic, Your karts are Gorgeous! I think I figured it out!! Couldn't figure out how you put fuel into the Enduro side tanks until I saw your next to last picture.......Are you using the Chilton tank on the rear of the seat to fill all 3 tanks simultaneously? That's pretty ingenious! Just wondering ...

Re: What Carb for WB Rookie 500 Engine?

Don, That engine was rated at 4.25 horsepower @ 7000 rpm according to the literature I have. They made several variations of the engine (chainsaw, kart, ring saw) with different carburetor locations and also PTO configurations. I can send you the literature if you send me an e-mail address. There is...

Re: What Carb for WB Rookie 500 Engine?

Don, That's a great little engine! We used one for my son's kart the last 4 years with NO problems. Just put fuel in it and GO. Still using the same spark plug we started with 4 years ago!! The carburetor is a Tillotson H810BX. Tiny carburetor with maybe a 5/8"Venturi and 3/4" throat. Looks a lot li...

Re: Horstman Rev-Grip Help/Trade

Virg, I can't answer whether they made a different hub for Komets and West Bends, but everyone is saying that I have an inboard hub/spider or whatever you want to call it. According to Louie Figgone, the hub/spider is the only difference between an Inboard and Outboard clutch (NOT COUNTING THE NUT)....

Horstman Rev-Grip Help/Trade

I'm trying get a Mac Super 250 saw engine converted for my son's kart in time for Barnesville in 3 weeks. I have a Horstman Rev-Grip 9 tooth clutch that I'm trying to fit and I'm having some problems. I believe the clutch is an Inboard type and I need an Outboard to fit with the GEM mount that I'm u...

WTB: Dry Clutch for a Mac

Trying to finish a Mac Super 250 Saw engine for my son in time for Barnesville. I'm looking for a good useable dry clutch (older Max Torque or Rev-Grip)and it has to be outboard since I'm using a GEM side mount. Prefer a 10 tooth, but 9 would be Ok also. The crank is tapered with a key and 3/8-24 th...

Re: Junior Vintage Engines

Scott,

Those engines are awesome! That's just what we need in the Jr. class!! You get my vote for Junior Class Tech Advisor in one of our organizations ;) !

By the way, where did you get the Super Cool decal? I need one for a "Super 250" that will soon be on my son's kart.

Re: mac replacement condensors

Butch & Terry, We stopped at Summit Racing on our way back from Barnesville Saturday (35 miles from track) while you guys were typing this and picked up (2) Mallory 400 condensors for $5.95 each! These are also available at our O'Reilly's Auto Parts for $11.99 each. Summit's a really neat stop if yo...

Re: Mac 49E Carb

Steve, Reading your last post, I forgot to mention that I'm using a GEM box muffler with our engine. If you're using a pipe, I'll bet you'll need more fuel! Another thing that may have affected the way the engine runs is the amount of Ethanol that is now in our fuels! When this engine was built (197...
