I'm just guessing, but from your address, I bet you arn't the same Brian Thomas we knew from Oklahoma . back in earlier years of karting.
Right?

Re: Enjoy this web site
Another thing I enjoy about this site is, I either know or knew almost every name from the past that comes up. Brings back lots of good memories.
, Well, most of them are good anyway.

Enjoy this web site
There are two web sites I visit several times each day. I check out E Karting news because I'm still in the karting business and need to keep up with what is going on. A lot of my business comes from being on that site. I visit this site for the fun of it. I just plain enjoy reading about old karts,...

Re: 49 crank differences
Yeah, Jim and I discussed what the clutch was to be used on. I'm leaving it up to him to set it properly. He did mention the 4000 or 4500 set up.
I have tried to mess with those springs before and I have no intention of trying THAT again.

Re: 49 crank differences
Thanks. I should have know that since I owned several 49C & E motors back in the 70s. Guess it's been so long I just forgot. Senior moment I guess. Seems I have a lot of them now.
I ordered a clutch from Jim today with both left & right hand nuts, so I've got it covered.
Thanks again,
Wally

49 crank differences
I have 3 Mc 49 motors. The clutch side of the crank on one of them has lefthand threads and no keyway. The other 2 have righthand threads and a keyway.
Anyone know why this is? What is the difference?
Thanks for any info.

Re: Rupp A-Bone year?
Yes, I got the sprocket, Louie, thanks. Now the problem is the nut I have is not long enough to seat in the ledge in the hub. When I tighten it down, it tightens against the drum and it turns into direct drive. I'm going to call Jim Donovan tomorrow and see if he still makes longer left hand thread ...

Rupp A-Bone year?
I have a A-Bone with the narrow hoop. I think it is 1971. I know the 68 had a wide hoop, but I'm not sure when Rupp went to the narrow hoop.
Anyone know for sure?
