Lotta steel pans are 18 Ga. (.0478), and most aluminum pans I see are 16 Ga. (.0508). Anything thinner is pretty fragile for a daily runner; thicker is a bit of extra weight and less flexible. Came across this Rupp Grand Prix. Thought I might share my disgust with some fellow Kart lovers. Kart was Chopped in half and lengthened and the rear was cut off and rebuilt with heavy steel to hold big engine. Original wheels discarded. Bill
